Todd Park Tree Planting & Workshop

October 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Get your hands dirty and help Austin stay green!

Emerald ash borer has caused large-scale tree removal throughout Todd Park. Help reforest Austin’s historic park.

Join us for a FREE tree planting workshop and learn about proper techniques for planting a tree. Also, learn about recommended tree species to plant in Austin. Help us plant a few trees at Todd Park! Great opportunity for Austin Assurance Scholarship volunteer hours!
There will be a short demonstration on how to plant trees before volunteers will be split into groups of 2-4 to plant their trees in pre-marked spots. All holes are pre-augered for easy digging. Event will go until all trees are planted. 47 Trees will be planted in Todd Park near the purple playground. All supplies will be provided but if you have your own gloves bring them with! Many hands make light work!
Water and snacks will be provided. All ages and abilities are welcome. If accommodations are needed, please contact Kris Hahn at [email protected].
Parking near Large Pavilion by the purple playground.
Inclement Weather Plan: This is a rain or shine event. If raining, we will meet inside the Picnic Pavillion. In the event of severe weather, the event will be canceled and a raindate will be posted. Registering with United Way is not required but strongly encouraged! You can register [here]
